A Little about Mike...

About MIke

For a long time I have been fascinated with the incredible rate of change in the world. Since as long as I can remember (try 1st grade) I always loved learning new things. I had a very steady job when I first graduated from college doing law enforcement software (big bucks! Bonuses were about 50% of my salary), but this thing called the “internet” was going on.

So, shortly I quit my little “Comfort Inn” in Chicago and moved to Denver.

Boy was I in for a ride! Since then, I've done software consulting work for several Fortune 1000 companies (such as Coors Brewing Company, Qwest Communications and Allstate) and did consulting work a number of small-medium businesses across North America.

When developing and working on software, it almost always resulted in a change process for employees within the company. They were the people that had to make changes in their daily habits; some supported the changes, others have resisted (even furiously!).

In my 'early' years, I got to see how the work I do can impact affect an organization. For some this meant a possible layoff, others it meant empowerment. I noticed the response depended on the culture and the leadership within the organization; it's about the people that drives changes -- not the necessarily the software.

I built this site because I’m passionate about the accelerating pace of change in life within business, technology, and careers. As Peter Drucker once said, “We now accept the fact that learning is a lifelong process of keeping abreast of change.”

I’ve become quite the knowledge seeker for the last decade. In addition to the software development processes, I’ve read and experimented with different business systems. Some of them worked well, and others didn't. But the bottom line is I hope my professional and personal experience can help your business.

Feel free to shoot me a line if you have anything you wish to yap about!
